Team Philippines Declared Overall Champion in Sport Stacking Open 2011

 

Filipinos once again dominated in Sport Stacking during the Asian Sport Stacking Tournament in Serangoon Singapore last November 26, 2011, bringing home a total of 16 Gold trophies and 11 Gold medals in all categories.

 

 

The team comprised of kids aged 9-15, namely Ydan Yotoko, Jose Rafael Blas Aguilay, Jan Dominique Nedamo, Donovan Jose Panganiban, Kiarra Luarca, Kenneth Cadacio and brothers Alonzo Miguel and Juan Manuel Ramos. Jericho Nieves, 16 years old, was announced Individual Overall Champion. These exceptional kids competed against 152 other athletes from Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, South Korea, China and Chinese Taipei.

 

According to Albert Coronel, Coach and Director of World Sport Stacking Association in the Philippines, “This proves that Filipinos are indeed competitive when it comes to sports. We are proud to have been part of this prestigious competition and we are confident that we will bag the title in the upcoming World Sport Stacking Championship in Butzbatch, Germany this coming April 2012.”
